PGA Anti-Bullying and Anti-Harassment Policy
As a member of the PGA, particularly if you are in a leadership role on the National Board of Directors, a committee, a task force, or otherwise, please remember that at all times you are representing the PGA and may subject the organization to liability by your behavior. Accordingly, it is the PGA’s policy that no PGA member shall make any comments or engage in any harassing behavior towards another member, staff, intern, volunteer, or other agent of the PGA in connection with any PGA program, event, or other activity or initiative, including, but not limited to, making comments about someone’s physical appearance, asking someone out socially, or engaging in sexual banter or telling sexual “jokes” in front of someone. Offensive comments implicating other protected categories – such as race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity/presentation, medical condition, etc. – are also strictly prohibited. As a PGA member, you also shall not intimidate or bully another member, staff, intern, volunteer, or other agent of the PGA through direct physical contact or verbal assault. Failure to adhere to this policy may result in immediate dismissal from the committee, task force, or other leadership role within the PGA that you possess, and may further result in legal or disciplinary action, including suspension or removal from the Guild entirely.
