Power of Diversity Master Workshop
Launched in 2005, the Workshop is the Guild’s longest-running program. It is an incubator for emerging and mid-career creative producers from backgrounds under-represented in the industry. It is part of PGA’s commitment to directly support producers actively engaged in developing features, television, immersive, animation, podcasts and more. It is for producers working in scripted, documentary and non-fiction.
10 producers or producing teams participate annually in this immersive eight-week program each summer. With its priority on mentorship, participants:
- Receive two one-on-one mentors
- Participate in weekly master classes led by acclaimed industry veterans demystifying project development stages, what it takes to get a project into physical production, production finance and co-production deals, the ever-evolving distribution landscape, planning a release and marketing strategy, potential agent and manager representation, and attaching key elements
- Refine their project pitches and development strategies for projects they are currently producing
- Remain part of a decade-old community of alumni and PGA mentors
Invitation is highly competitive and limited to 10 producers or producing teams annually. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the 2021 edition will be held virtually in July and August.
2021 Application available in February.
Class of 2021 announced in June.
